I like it a lot (2008-11-01)
I like it because I get a little desk space back, my neck likes it because I'm not looking down, and my computer likes it because it doesn't get hot as easily. I have read concerns of the laptop slipping down off the rubber pads, and indeed there's not a terrible lot of resistance, but mine does not move, and I don't think it ever will. One might wonder whether the people making the other complaints handled the rubber pads (or the computer) with greasy hands before setting the computer down.

If your table isn't steady, it does have a tendency to wobble forward and backward a little bit, and same if you try to type on it. But it's not too bad, especially if you're just gesturing or tapping on the trackpad. I routinely reach up and do multitouch gestures on my MacBook Pro's trackpad - double-finger scrolling especially - quite comfortably.

Now, if you were thinking it might actually come to life at midnight and make you an espresso, you will be disappointed. Also, do not let the product shots fool you: it does not come with a computer.

A Great and actually usable item (2008-10-12)
I really love the Griffin Elevator. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It lifts my 15 inch Apple MBP well off the desk. I have had it for about 3-4 weeks and I am really loving it!!

Convenient Stand, but a Little Slippery (2008-09-23)
The stand is sleek and convenient, but I have had the laptop slide off a few times (I use a 17" MacBook Pro). The key is to position the laptop on the stand with about an inch of the grippy pad on the top sticking out, so the weight is distributed onto the back of the stand more evenly. I definitely like the way the stand looks, but it is a bit pricey considering how simple a piece of "equipment" it is. Ask yourself if you wouldn't rather just stack up some books?

very useful product! (2008-09-22)
I've been using this laptop stand for my 15' Macbook Pro for the last few months. Initially I was just looking to elevate my computer to create more table space. After using this, I have found many benefits from having this stand.
1) Elevates the laptop and creates a little more space on your table if you needed to do some writing.
2) Keeps the laptop cooler since it allows airflow on the bottom of the computer
3) I've found that my sitting posture has changed drastically, and my back doesn't hurt after sitting at my table for a long period of time.
4) Allows me to type from an external keyboard that sits nicely under the stand when not in use.

The stand is small and can be easily put away. My 15' laptop sits pretty nicely on it. I was worried in the beginning after reading some reviews about the computer sliding down the rubber, but it has been pretty secure so far.

Dirty used keyboard (2008-09-17)

I recall the ad saying "new" keyboard. It came very used and unclean.
