Perfect! (2008-10-25)
How many of us can claim not being guilty of lying in bed with a notebook computer on our stomach until what had seemed light and comfortable just a few minutes prior suddenly begins to feel like a heavy, hot rock? Besides the pain in the gut, the injury inflicted upon your computer is, according to the experts, guaranteed to send the machine into panic mode not to mention invite costly repairs. Putting a pillow or lap desk between you and the computer alleviates the pressure--but not for long.

With the foregoing considerations in mind (along with some derogatory, caricaturing comments from family members as well as a lecture from a computer repair person), I began the search on Amazon for an alternative. Fortunately, I came upon this "My Place" table, which frankly leaves nothing to be desired (except for the unreadable but gratuitous sheet of instructions). It's a unibody design, made of light, solid plastic (with naturally "textured" surfaces), that folds and unfolds in an instant. The computer base elevates to 10 different levels, and the bottom lip holds your machine securely in place regardless of the archness of the angle. Even without the unexpected "bonuses"--a gooseneck directional bright light (making up for the backlit keyboard I've always wanted) and a roomy, level area for using a mouse--this item would be welcome at the price.

Fortunately, even I could figure out how to use this device without reference to the instructions--though it wasn't until I looked at the picture on the box cover that I realized the legs are adjustable to two heights (another bonus). The only cause for pause is postage costs, since the item isn't sold through Amazon Prime, and I see that rates have doubled in just the past week. But what's to prevent them from doing the same by this time next week?

Not for Lefties!!! (2008-10-21)
As the title indicates, if you are left handed, DON'T bother. This product definitely needs some tweaking to make it adjustable to BOTH hands, and comfort. I agree with the other reviewer, unless you have a huge couch and are of the right height, this non-adjsutable (in the right ways) table is NOT for you. It does have great potential though - I give you that! I would love to see completely adjustable legs and the ability to change mousepad sides.

Good idea; needs some tweaking (2008-10-17)
When I saw this laptop table I had high hopes for something I could to hold my laptop and allow me to use my mouse. This was not to be. If I placed it on the couch like the picture shoes, it's totally awkward if your couch isn't wide enough. the front legs end up hanging off the chair. Look at the model's posture. She'd have aching wrists after using the computer and mouse like that. Obviously the legs make it too high. I tried not using it with the legs but then it hurts your thighs because there's no support. I'm better off with the laptop in my lap. I'm better off sticking with my Belkin Notebook Holder. I just wish they made them a little wider for space for a mouse.

MyPlace Laptop Table is a must for anyone who works at home on their laptop. (2008-09-01)
This product is definately a must for those that spend long hours working on their laptops. I love the adjustability of the tray top as well as the height. I highly recommend this product.

perfect (2008-08-29)
Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect, whether I am sitting on the couch or in bed. I even find with the 2nd leg extension I can lay in bed and use it like a night stand laptop desk!...How lazy is that????!!!!
